At Jalaram Mandir, we are proud to announce a remarkable achievement—our Jalaram Soup Kitchen (JSK) has now served over 1 million meals to the homeless on the streets of Charing Cross over the last 8 years. This milestone represents not just a number, but the collective effort and compassion of our community, volunteers, donors, and supporters who have all contributed to this incredible journey.

A Journey of Compassion and Service

The Jalaram Soup Kitchen was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to serve those who are most in need, following the timeless ethos of Sadavrat, as taught by Bapa. Sadavrat is the tradition of selfless service, where food is shared with compassion, without expectation of anything in return. For the last eight years, JSK has worked tirelessly to provide hot, nutritious meals to homeless individuals, many of whom are struggling in one of the most challenging areas of London.

Since its inception, JSK has been committed to following Bapa’s teachings, ensuring that every meal served is a reflection of love, care, and kindness. We believe in not just offering food, but also showing dignity and respect to those we serve. Every plate that leaves our kitchen carries with it not only sustenance but also hope and a sense of community.

Gratitude to Our Supporters

This milestone could not have been reached without the generous support from local businesses, volunteers, and everyone else who has played a role in our success. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the shops and organizations in the area that have donated food, supplies, and financial support to help us continue our work. Their commitment to social responsibility has been an invaluable part of our efforts.

We would also like to express our profound gratitude to the volunteers who have given their time, energy, and care to help prepare and serve meals, often in challenging conditions. Your dedication is what makes this initiative possible and keeps it going year after year. Whether you’ve volunteered for a single day or been a regular part of the team, your contribution has made a difference in the lives of many.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on this significant achievement, we are reminded that there is still much work to be done. While we celebrate serving 1 million meals, we know that there are still many people who need our support. The challenges faced by the homeless community are far from over, and JSK remains committed to feeding as many individuals as possible.

With Bapa’s blessings and the continued support of our community, we strive to expand our efforts and reach even more people in need. We will continue to uphold the spirit of Sadavrat, offering meals not only to nourish the body but to uplift the spirit and strengthen the bonds of our shared humanity.
